Dr. Kathryn Ellis and OTD Student, Hannah Zaininger, will discuss trauma informed approaches to use when addressing sexuality in OT clinical practice! This is an introductory lecture on trauma-informed care approaches and interventions for addressing the impact of trauma on sexual and intimate occupational performance.

Learning Objectives:
- Identify 4-5 common types of traumatic experiences that clients may have encountered in their lifetime
- Articulate 2-3 ways in which engagement in sexual activity could be impacted by trauma
- Identify the 6 guiding principles of trauma-informed care set forth by SAMHSA, and, provide an example for each for how to implement the principles into clinical practice
- Provide 2-3 examples of trauma-informed activities or interventions that could be completed with clients when addressing sexuality and intimacy
